K.G Campbell biography

K. G. Campbell is a children’s author and illustrator. He was born in Kenya, raised and educated in Scotland, and graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a master’s degree in Art History. His picture-book work includes writing and illustrating Lester’s Dreadful Sweaters, released on 1 September 2012, and The Mermaid and the Shoe, published in April 2014.

Campbell illustrated Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures by Kate DiCamillo, which won the 2014 Newbery Medal. He also illustrated Tea Party Rules by Ame Dyckman, released on 3 October 2013, Who Wants a Tortoise? by Dave Keane, released on 19 July 2016, Wee Sister Strange by Holly Grant, released on 5 September 2017, and Aliens Get the Sniffles Too! Ahhh-Choo! by Katy S. Duffield, released on 7 November 2017.

Campbell created the middle-grade Zombie Problems trilogy, about August DuPont and a growing zombie problem. The trilogy consists of A Small Zombie Problem, The Zombie Stone and August of the Zombies. A Small Zombie Problem was published by Knopf in June 2019, and the series continued with The Zombie Stone on 12 January 2021 and August of the Zombies on 25 January 2022.
