Tillie Walden is an American cartoonist and illustrator. She was born in 1996 in San Diego, California, and graduated from the Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont, where she later taught. She began publishing short comics as a teenager, and her first long-form graphic novel, The End of Summer, was published by Avery Hill in 2015.
Walden’s early graphic novels include I Love This Part, which won the 2016 Ignatz Award for promising new talent, and A City Inside, published in 2016. Her graphic memoir Spinning was published in 2017 and won the 2018 Eisner Award for Best Reality-Based Work.
On a Sunbeam is a young adult graphic novel by Walden with a page count of 544 and an on-sale date of 2 October 2018. The story follows Mia as she joins a crew that rebuilds broken structures in space and searches for a lost love from boarding school.
Walden wrote and illustrated Clementine: Book One, a young adult graphic novel set in Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead world. Clementine: Book One was published on 21 June 2022, followed by Clementine: Book Two on 3 October 2023 and Clementine: Book Three in 2025.
