Ryan La Sala biography

Ryan La Sala is a bestselling and award-winning author known for his genre-defying, queer-centered horror and fantasy novels. His works include Reverie (2019), Be Dazzled (2021), The Honeys (2022), and Beholder (2023). His upcoming novel, The Dead of Summer, is scheduled for release on September 16, 2025, by Scholastic Press. The Honeys is currently in development as a major motion picture with Anonymous Content.

La Sala grew up in Connecticut and studied anthropology and neuroscience at Northeastern University. Before becoming a full-time writer, he worked as a project manager specializing in digital tools. His writing often explores themes of identity, transformation, and the surreal, centering queer characters in narratives that blend elements of horror and fantasy.

His debut novel, Reverie, was praised for its imaginative storytelling and has been featured in publications such as The New York Times Book Review, Entertainment Weekly, and NPR. The Honeys received critical acclaim, earning starred reviews from Booklist, Publishers Weekly, and School Library Journal. The audiobook edition was awarded the Odyssey Medal for Excellence.
