Natalie Peeterse writes for young readers and poetry audiences. She co-authored the graphic novel Thunderous with M. L. Smoker; the book is a 96-page middle-grade fantasy adventure about Aiyana, a Native American girl whose journey through the Spirit World tests her connection with her Lakota heritage. Thunderous was published in 2022.
Peeterse has also worked in poetry. She was a contributor to Verde Que Te Quiero Verde: Poems after Federico Garcia Lorca, an anthology of poems responding to Federico García Lorca; the paperback was published on 3 February 2016.
