Minh Lê is a Vietnamese-American children’s author who has gained recognition for his captivating and diverse storytelling. Born in the United States to Vietnamese immigrant parents, Lê grew up with a deep appreciation for his cultural heritage. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Dartmouth College and a Master’s degree in Education from Harvard University.
Lê’s passion for writing and storytelling led him to pursue a career in children’s literature. He has written numerous picture books that explore themes of identity, family, and cultural diversity. One of his most notable works is the critically acclaimed book “Drawn Together,” illustrated by Dan Santat. This heartwarming story depicts the power of art and communication to bridge generational and cultural gaps.
In addition to his own writing, Lê has also collaborated with other authors and illustrators. He co-authored the popular graphic novel series “Green Lantern: Legacy” with artist Andie Tong. This series introduces a new Green Lantern character, Tai Pham, who embarks on a journey to discover his family’s past and embrace his heritage.
Lê’s works have resonated with readers of all ages and backgrounds, earning him widespread acclaim and recognition within the literary community. “Drawn Together” received numerous awards, including the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature and the Ezra Jack Keats Book Award. The book’s powerful message of connection and understanding has made it a favorite among educators and parents alike.
Furthermore, Lê’s contributions to children’s literature have been recognized by organizations such as the American Library Association and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. His books have been translated into multiple languages, allowing his stories to reach a global audience.
