Miguel Benitez biography

Miguel Benítez is an illustrator of children’s chapter books, including the Zapato Power series written by Jacqueline Jules. His illustration work on Freddie Ramos Takes Off introduced the series’ superhero-themed early-reader format in a book about Freddie Ramos and a pair of shoes that give him super speed.

Freddie Ramos Takes Off was published on 1 March 2010 and includes illustrations by Benítez. Freddie Ramos Springs Into Action followed on 1 September 2010, with Benítez again illustrating Freddie’s adventures with super-powered shoes.

Benítez continued illustrating the Zapato Power books across later volumes, including Freddie Ramos Makes a Splash, Freddie Ramos Stomps the Snow, Freddie Ramos Rules New York, Freddie Ramos Hears It All and Freddie Ramos Adds It All Up. Freddie Ramos Adds It All Up was published on 1 August 2019.
