Maryrose Wood biography

Maryrose Wood is the author of The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place. The series began with The Mysterious Howling, published by Balzer + Bray/HarperCollins on 23 February 2010. It continued with The Hidden Gallery on 22 February 2011, The Unseen Guest on 1 April 2012, and The Interrupted Tale on 1 December 2013. These books follow Penelope Lumley and the three children she is hired to teach after they have been found living in the woods.

Wood also wrote The Poison Diaries sequence for teen readers. The first book, The Poison Diaries, was published in August 2010 and was based on a concept by the Duchess of Northumberland, and Nightshade followed on 25 October 2011. Her earlier young adult novels include Why I Let My Hair Grow Out, published on 6 March 2007, How I Found the Perfect Dress, published on 6 May 2008, My Life: The Musical, published on 11 March 2008, and Sex Kittens and Horn Dawgs Fall in Love, published on 18 December 2007. Her middle-grade novel Alice’s Farm: A Rabbit’s Tale was released by Square Fish on 31 August 2021 and was a 2021 National Council of Teachers of English Charlotte Huck Recommended Book.
