Marc Tyler Nobleman is an author of books for young people and has written more than 50 books for that audience. His subjects include ghosts, Groundhog Day, belly flops, the Battle of the Little Bighorn, Superman and summertime activities. He has also worked as a cartoonist, and his single-panel cartoons have appeared in more than 100 international publications. He has written regularly for Nickelodeon Magazine and has written for The History Channel.
His books include Bill the Boy Wonder, Thirty Minutes Over Oregon, The Chupacabra Ate the Candelabra, Boys of Steel, Fairy Spell and Brave Like My Brother. Thirty Minutes Over Oregon is a true story about the Japanese Second World War pilot who bombed the United States mainland and returned 20 years later to apologise. Fairy Spell is about two girls whose First World War-era photographs of alleged fairies mystified the world until the girls were old women. Brave Like My Brother is a Second World War novel told in letters.
Bill the Boy Wonder: The Secret Co-Creator of Batman, illustrated by Ty Templeton, is a 48-page picture book biography for readers aged 8 to 12. The book tells the story of Bill Finger’s role in developing Batman’s concept, costume, character, origin story and villains. It was published by Charlesbridge on 1 July 2012.
Boys of Steel: The Creators of Superman, illustrated by Ross MacDonald, presents Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster as the creators of Superman. The book was produced as a picture-book biography for classroom use, with a hardcover ISBN of 978-0-375-83802-6 and a library binding ISBN of 978-0-375-93802-3. The book was connected with the 70th anniversary of Superman in 2008.
