Justin Eisinger biography

Justin Eisinger was born in the United States and writes in the children’s and comics genres. He has worked as an author, adaptor and editor on graphic novels and comics for young readers.

Eisinger adapted My Little Pony: The Magic Begins, a graphic-novel adaptation of the episodes “Friendship is Magic”, Parts 1 and 2, published on 27 August 2013. He also wrote Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Animated Volume 2: Never Say Xever / The Gauntlet, a 112-page children’s graphic novel published on 3 September 2013.

For They Called Us Enemy, Eisinger was one of the co-writers with George Takei and Steven Scott, with artwork by Harmony Becker. The graphic memoir was published in paperback on 16 July 2019, and the expanded hardcover edition was published by Top Shelf Productions on 25 August 2020.

Eisinger has served as Editorial Director, Graphic Novels & Collections for IDW Publishing, where his work included graphic storytelling across more than twelve years. They Called Us Enemy won the 2020 Asian/Pacific American Award for Young Adult Literature and the 2020 Eisner Award for Best Reality-Based Work.
