James Tynion.IV biography

James Tynion IV is a comic-book writer and publisher. His horror comics include Something is Killing the Children, The Nice House on the Lake and The Department of Truth, which he co-created. He has also written young-adult adventure comics, including Wynd and The Woods.

Tynion spent ten years writing Batman titles for DC Comics. His DC work includes Batman, Detective Comics and Justice League Dark, and he co-created the characters Punchline and Ghost-Maker. His Batman-related work also includes the Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trilogy.

Something is Killing the Children Vol. 1 was published by BOOM! Studios on 26 May 2020, with art by Werther Dell’Edera, and collects issues #1–5. The series follows Erica Slaughter, a monster hunter who arrives in Archer’s Peak after children begin to disappear.

The Woods won the GLAAD Media Award in 2017. Wynd received multiple GLAAD Media Award nominations. Something is Killing the Children Vol. 4 was published by BOOM! Studios on 11 January 2022, with art by Werther Dell’Edera, and collects Something is Killing the Children #16–20.

Blue Book Volume 1: 1961 was published by Dark Horse Books on 19 September 2023, with art by Michael Avon Oeming, and collects Blue Book #1–#5.
