Hatem Aly is an Egyptian-born illustrator whose work has been published internationally and featured on television.
Aly illustrated The Proudest Blue, written by Ibtihaj Muhammad with S. K. Ali, a picture book about the first day of school and a girl’s first day of hijab. He continued illustrating Faizah and Asiya’s stories in The Kindest Red and The Boldest White.
His other illustrated work includes The Story Pirates Present: Stuck in the Stone Age, The Story Pirates Present: Digging Up Danger, Saadia Faruqi’s Meet Yasmin early readers, Ryan Miller’s How to Feed Your Parents and Omar Abed’s The Book That Almost Rhymed. The Inquisitor’s Tale was published by Dutton Books for Young Readers in a 400-page edition on 20 March 2018.
