Gretchen McNeil writes young adult horror, suspense, mystery and thriller fiction. Her early young adult novels include Possess, Ten, 3:59, Get Even and Get Dirty. Possess was published by Balzer + Bray/HarperCollins on 23 August 2011, and Ten followed on 18 September 2012.

The Don’t Get Mad sequence includes Get Even, published on 16 September 2014, and Get Dirty, published on 16 June 2015. Her contemporary young adult novel I’m Not Your Manic Pixie Dream Girl was published on 18 October 2016. Her MurderTrending sequence includes #MurderTrending, #MurderFunding and #NoEscape.

Her later young adult work with Disney Publishing Group includes #MurderTrending, Dig Two Graves, Three Drops of Blood and Four Letter Word. Three Drops of Blood was published on 21 March 2023, and Four Letter Word was published by Disney Hyperion on 5 March 2024 for readers aged 12 and above.

McNeil has been a published young adult novelist since 2011. Her first adult novel is They Fear Not Men in the Woods, a DAW title scheduled for publication on 28 July 2026.
