Gordon Korman biography

Gordon Korman is a Canadian-American author known for his extensive body of work in children’s and young adult literature. He began his writing career at the age of twelve, when he wrote his first novel, This Can’t Be Happening at Macdonald Hall, as a seventh-grade English project. The book was published by Scholastic in 1978, launching a prolific career.

Korman has written more than ninety books, including series such as Macdonald Hall, Swindle, On the Run, Kidnapped, and Ungifted. His works often feature humor, adventure, and relatable characters, appealing to middle-grade and young adult readers. Korman has also contributed to multi-author series, including The 39 Clues.

He attended New York University, where he studied film and dramatic writing. Over the decades, Korman’s books have been published by Scholastic and other major publishers, and his titles are widely used in schools and libraries across North America.

In 2021, Gordon Korman published the novel Linked with Scholastic, which explores themes of community and history.
