Ellen.T Crenshaw biography

Ellen T. Crenshaw is a cartoonist and illustrator whose work covers books, editorial illustration, advertising, comics and children’s media. Her work has appeared in Beer Advocate Magazine and The Nib. Her books include Test Your Baby and Test Your Toddler’s IQ, both written by Rachel Federman.

Kiss Number 8 was her first graphic novel. She created the book with writer Colleen AF Venable, and it was longlisted for the 2019 National Book Award and nominated for the 2020 Eisner Award.

Crenshaw adapted and illustrated Stacey’s Mistake: A Graphic Novel, number 14 in The Baby-Sitters Club Graphix Series, from Ann M. Martin’s series. The paperback edition was published by Scholastic, Inc. on 3 October 2023, has 160 pages, and is aimed at readers aged 8 to 12.

Crenshaw wrote and illustrated What Was the Turning Point of the Civil War?: Alfred Waud Goes to Gettysburg, a Who HQ Graphic Novel about the Battle of Gettysburg seen through war reporter Alfred Waud. The paperback edition was published by Penguin Young Readers Group on 31 May 2022, has 64 pages, and is aimed at readers aged 8 to 12.
