Chris Colfer biography

Chris Colfer is an American author and actor known for his work in children’s and young adult literature. He is the creator of The Land of Stories series, which began in 2012 with The Wishing Spell. The series includes six volumes and follows twins who enter a magical world where fairy tales come to life. It concluded in 2017 with Worlds Collide and became a New York Times bestseller.

Colfer expanded the franchise with a prequel trilogy: A Tale of Magic… (2019), A Tale of Witchcraft… (2020), and A Tale of Sorcery… (2021). In 2024, he launched a new middle-grade science fiction series with the release of Roswell Johnson Saves the World.

In addition to his writing, Colfer is known for his role as Kurt Hummel on the television series Glee (2009–2015), for which he won a Golden Globe Award. He has also written the novel Stranger Than Fanfiction (2017) and Struck by Lightning: The Carson Phillips Journal, a companion to the film he wrote and starred in.

Colfer’s books have been translated into multiple languages and are noted for blending fantasy, humor, and adventure with accessible themes for young readers.
