Bob Shea biography

Bob Shea is a children’s author and illustrator whose work includes picture books and early readers. He has written and illustrated Dinosaur vs. Bedtime, New Socks, I’m a Shark, Unicorn Thinks He’s Pretty Great, Unicorn Is Maybe Not So Great After All, The Scariest Book Ever and the Ballet Cat early-reader books. He wrote Big Plans and Kid Sheriff and the Terrible Toads, both illustrated by Lane Smith.

Shea’s writing career began at Comedy Central. His characters and animations have appeared on Nick Jr., Noggin, Playhouse Disney and PBS Kids. He has also worked as a graphic designer.

Shea has written stories illustrated by other artists, including Who Wet My Pants?, illustrated by Zachariah OHora, and Big Plans, illustrated by Lane Smith. Who Wet My Pants? was published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers on 17 September 2019.

Shea’s board-book work includes the Adurable series, with titles such as Adurable: Little Pups in Big Trucks, Adurable: This Pup Is Stuck! and Adurable: The Great Truck Switcheroo. He is also the author of Oh, Are You Awake? and I Am a Baby, both published by Candlewick.
