Aron Nels Steinke is a children’s graphic novelist and cartoonist. He created the Mr. Wolf’s Class series, a full-colour graphic-novel series for readers aged 7 to 10 and grades 2 to 5. Mr. Wolf’s Class follows a new fourth-grade teacher at Hazelwood Elementary and introduces classroom storylines about new pupils, show-and-tell, school routines and friendship.
Steinke illustrated The Zoo Box, written by Ariel Cohn and published by First Second. The Zoo Box is a 48-page graphic-novel-style picture book for ages 5 to 7, and it won the Eisner Award in the early readers category in 2015.
Mr. Wolf’s Class was published by Graphix in June 2018 as a 160-page children’s graphic novel. Later books in the series include Lucky Stars, published on 3 September 2019, and Snow Day, published on 1 February 2022.
Steinke wrote and illustrated Speechless, a 256-page Graphix middle-grade graphic novel for ages 8 to 12 and grades 3 to 7. Speechless centres on Mira, a middle-school pupil who can speak at home but struggles to speak in class, and it was released on 4 March 2025.
