Alex Brown is a Filipino American writer of young adult horror and horror comedy. Brown is also a literary agent at Mad Woman Literary and is represented by Amy Bishop-Wycisk at Trellis Literary Management.
Brown’s young adult comedy-horror debut, Damned If You Do, was published by Page Street YA on August 1, 2023. The novel follows Cordelia Scott, a high school stage manager who learns that a bargain made years earlier has cost her a piece of her soul.
Brown co-edited Night of the Living Queers: 13 Tales of Terror & Delight with Shelly Page. Wednesday Books published the anthology on August 29, 2023, with contributors including Kalynn Bayron, Ryan Douglass, Sara Farizan, Kosoko Jackson, Tara Sim, Trang Thanh Tran and Rebecca Kim Wells.
Brown edited The House Where Death Lives, a young adult speculative horror anthology published by Page Street YA on August 6, 2024. The anthology features stories set in different rooms of the same house and includes work by Traci Chee, Courtney Gould, Linsey Miller, Shelly Page, Nova Ren Suma, Rosiee Thor and Justine Pucella Winans.
Brown’s second young adult horror-comedy novel, Rest in Peaches, was published by Page Street YA on October 15, 2024. The book was a 2025 Locus Award finalist for Best Young Adult Novel and a 2025 Dragon Award nominee for Best Young Adult / Middle Grade Novel.
