Tim Hopgood biography

Tim Hopgood is a British author and illustrator known for his work in children’s picture books. He began his career as a graphic designer and magazine art director before transitioning to children’s publishing. Hopgood has written and illustrated numerous books, often focusing on themes of nature, music, and discovery.

His debut picture book, Our Big Blue Sofa, was published in 2006. Hopgood is also recognized for his book Wow! Said the Owl, which introduces young readers to the concept of color through the story of a curious owl. Another notable title, Here Comes Frankie!, explores the world of music and won the Booktrust Early Years Award in 2008.

Hopgood has collaborated with other authors as an illustrator, including working with author Martin Waddell on Rosie’s Hat. His books have been published by Macmillan Children’s Books and Oxford University Press, among others. In addition to his original stories, Hopgood has created picture book adaptations of classic songs, such as What a Wonderful World and Moon River.

Tim Hopgood’s book Here Comes Frankie! received the Booktrust Early Years Award in 2008.
