Thomas King is a Canadian writer of Cherokee and Greek descent, known for his work as a novelist, short story writer, and broadcaster. He has written extensively about Indigenous experiences in North America, often blending humor and social commentary in his works. King is the author of several novels, including Green Grass, Running Water (1993) and Truth & Bright Water (1999). He has also published collections of short stories, such as One Good Story, That One (1993), and non-fiction works, including The Inconvenient Indian: A Curious Account of Native People in North America (2012).
In addition to his writing, King has contributed to radio, notably creating and hosting the CBC Radio series The Dead Dog Café Comedy Hour. His work has been recognized with several awards, including the Governor General’s Literary Award for Fiction in 2014 for his novel The Back of the Turtle, published by HarperCollins Canada.
