Theo Parish biography

Theo Parish is an author–illustrator whose debut young adult graphic memoir, Homebody, was published in the United States by HarperAlley on April 23, 2024, with a UK edition from Pan Macmillan dated April 25, 2024. The book presents a first-person account of gender identity exploration for teen readers.

Homebody was named a finalist for YALSA’s Award for Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults. Publisher listings place the book for ages 14 and up and record an extent of approximately 224 pages across print formats, with audiobook and e-book editions also issued.

Parish studied Games Art and Design at Norwich University of the Arts, completing both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Their work draws on comics storytelling and is influenced by fantasy media and personal experience.

Alongside publication, press and publisher features highlight Parish’s interest in accessible visual narrative for classrooms and libraries. Homebody combines traditional comics sequences with reflective interludes to document the author’s path to self-understanding, and it marks their entry into children’s and YA publishing.
