Sharon King-Chai is an author and illustrator known for her work in children’s literature. She grew up in Australia and has a background in graphic design. King-Chai has illustrated and written several picture books, often noted for their interactive and visually engaging elements. Her books include Animalphabet, written by Julia Donaldson and published by Two Hoots in 2018, and Starbird, which she both wrote and illustrated, published by Two Hoots in 2019. King-Chai’s work frequently features intricate die-cuts and vibrant illustrations, encouraging exploration and engagement from young readers. In 2021, her book Starbird was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal.
