Shannon Watters biography

Shannon Watters is a comics, graphic-novel, animation and prose writer. She co-created and co-wrote the comic book series Lumberjanes, and she was formerly a senior editor and head of the BOOM! Box line at BOOM! Studios.

Lumberjanes Vol. 1: Beware The Kitten Holy was published by BOOM! Box on 7 April 2015. The volume was written by ND Stevenson, Shannon Watters and Grace Ellis, illustrated by Gus A Allen, and collects Lumberjanes issues #1–#4 for readers aged 9 to 12 and grades 4 to 7.

A later edition, Lumberjanes Book One, was published by BOOM! Box on 30 September 2025. It collects Lumberjanes issues #1–#12, names Shannon Watters, ND Stevenson and Grace Ellis as writers, and gives the age range as 8 to 12 years.

Watters wrote Hollow with Branden Boyer-White, with illustrations by Berenice Nelle; BOOM! Box published the 176-page graphic novel on 4 October 2022 for readers aged 13 to 17. She and Branden Boyer-White also wrote Hollow: The Woman in White, illustrated by Berenice Nelle and published by BOOM! Box on 5 August 2025.

Watters contributed to Jim Henson Presents #1, a 40-page BOOM! Studios ebook published on 8 January 2025, and to the 176-page Jim Henson Presents collection published by BOOM! Studios on 4 November 2025.
