Scout Underhill is a children’s author–illustrator and the creator of DnDoggos, a middle grade graphic novel series that began as a weekly webcomic. The print debut, DnDoggos: Get the Party Started (Feiwel & Friends/Macmillan, 2024), introduces four dogs who play a tabletop role-playing game and embark on a rescue quest. The book presents step-by-step gameplay moments and character sheets within an adventure format designed for independent readers.
Underhill writes and illustrates the series, with Liana Sposto credited for color on the first volume. Publisher materials list classroom-use details such as page count and format availability across hardcover, paperback, ebook, and audio where offered. The follow-up volume, DnDoggos: Spells Like Trouble, continues the series for the same audience.
Before the print books, Underhill launched DnDoggos online in 2017, posting regular installments that developed the cast—Magnus, Pickles, Tonka, and Zoey—and established the strip’s rules-guided, cooperative tone. The move to long-form storytelling expanded the setting and quest structure while keeping the focus on teamwork and problem-solving for middle grade readers.
Author biographies and official pages describe Underhill as a comics storyteller who uses sequential art to connect process, play, and narrative. Public profiles note they use they/them pronouns and continue to create new installments and related materials tied to the DnDoggos universe for school, library, and family audiences.
