Sara Brezzi biography

Sara Brezzi is an Italian illustrator and surface pattern designer working primarily in children’s publishing. Active since 2013, she creates artwork for board books, picture books, and related products including puzzles, games, and stationery. She holds a degree in History of Art from the University of Siena.

Brezzi is the illustrator of Kathy MacMillan’s interactive board books Nita’s First Signs (Familius, 2018) and Nita’s Day (Familius, 2020), titles in the Little Hands Signing series that introduce key American Sign Language signs for families and early learners. Her board books for very young readers also include the “Chalk Effect” titles Toys, Sea, and Farm (White Star Publishers, 2020).

Her recent projects feature poetry and gift publishing for children. Brezzi illustrated The Father Goose Treasury of Poetry: 101 Favorite Poems for Children by Charles Ghigna (Schiffer Kids, 2023), a collection designed for read-aloud and independent browsing.

Across these projects, Brezzi’s portfolio focuses on clear, accessible imagery for babies, toddlers, and early readers, produced in collaboration with international publishers and authors.
