Sally Warner is an American author known for her works for children and young adults. She has written both chapter books and novels, often focusing on themes relevant to young readers. Warner holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts from Otis Art Institute, and she has also worked as an artist and art teacher.
Her books include the EllRay Jakes series, which follows the experiences of a young boy navigating elementary school life. The series began with EllRay Jakes Is Not a Chicken! and has been published by Viking Children’s Books. Warner has also written the Emma series, which centers on a young girl adjusting to changes in her family and friendships. In addition to her series, Warner has authored standalone novels such as Sort of Forever and How to Be a Real Person (in just one day).
Warner’s books have been recognized for their realistic portrayal of childhood experiences and have been included in various reading lists for schools and libraries. Her novel Sort of Forever was published by Knopf Books for Young Readers in 1998.
