Sally Nicholls is a British author known for her works of children’s and young adult fiction. She studied Philosophy and Literature at the University of Warwick and later completed a master’s degree in Writing for Young People at Bath Spa University. Nicholls’ debut novel, Ways to Live Forever, was published in 2008 by Marion Lloyd Books. The novel received critical attention and won the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize in 2008.
Nicholls has written several other novels for young readers, including Season of Secrets (2009), All Fall Down (2012), and Things a Bright Girl Can Do (2017). Her books often explore themes such as family, loss, and resilience. In addition to novels, she has written short stories and contributed to anthologies.
Her novel Things a Bright Girl Can Do was shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal in 2018.
