Richard Paul Evans is an American author known for his works in children’s and young adult literature, as well as adult fiction. He began his writing career with the self-publication of The Christmas Box, which was later published by Simon & Schuster. Evans has written several books for young readers, including the Michael Vey series, which follows the story of a teenager with special electrical powers. The first book in the series, Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25, was published by Simon Pulse in 2011. Evans has also written picture books and novels for a range of ages. In 2012, Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 received the Whitney Award for Best Youth Fiction.
