Phil Corbett biography

Phil Corbett is a comics creator and children’s author–illustrator best known for the middle grade graphic novel series Kitty Quest. Published in the United States by Razorbill (Penguin Random House), the series follows Perigold and Woolfrik—apprentice monster-fighters from the island of Pawdor—through humor-forward fantasy adventures for ages 7–10.

The series began with Kitty Quest: A Graphic Novel (June 15, 2021) and continued with Tentacle Trouble (July 26, 2022), Sinister Sister (January 23, 2024), and Phantom Frenzy (October 8, 2024). UK editions are published by Simon & Schuster Children’s. Trade materials list the books at 208 pages with multiple formats for schools and libraries, including hardcover, paperback, ebook, and audio where available.

Before launching Kitty Quest, Corbett contributed to British comics and was the final writer–artist to create new stories for Korky the Cat in The Dandy. His professional portfolio also includes character and design work for entertainment and game clients such as Cartoon Network, Disney, Nickelodeon, Nintendo, and Sony.

Corbett’s work is positioned for classrooms and independent reading, combining brisk paneling, visual jokes, and accessible vocabulary to support developing readers. He is represented by the Pickled Ink agency.
