Melissa Sweet is an American author and illustrator known for her work in children’s literature. She has illustrated over 100 books, collaborating with various authors and also writing her own texts. Sweet is recognized for her distinctive mixed-media artwork, which often incorporates watercolor, collage, and found objects.

Sweet has illustrated books such as Some Writer!: The Story of E. B. White, which she also wrote. This biography of E. B. White was published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2016. She has also illustrated A River of Words: The Story of William Carlos Williams, written by Jen Bryant, and The Right Word: Roget and His Thesaurus, also written by Jen Bryant.
