Marissa Meyer biography

Marissa Meyer is an American author known for her young adult novels, particularly the Lunar Chronicles series. She studied at Pacific Lutheran University, where she earned a degree in Creative Writing. Before becoming a full-time writer, Meyer worked as a book editor and also wrote fan fiction under the pseudonym Alicia Blade.

Meyer’s debut novel, Cinder, was published by Feiwel & Friends in 2012. The book is the first in the Lunar Chronicles, a series that reimagines classic fairy tales in a futuristic setting. The series includes Scarlet (2013), Cress (2014), and Winter (2015), as well as the companion novel Fairest (2015) and the short story collection Stars Above (2016).

In addition to the Lunar Chronicles, Meyer has written other young adult novels. Her standalone novel Heartless was published in 2016 and explores the origin story of the Queen of Hearts from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Meyer is also the author of the Renegades trilogy, which includes Renegades (2017), Archenemies (2018), and Supernova (2019).

Marissa Meyer’s work has received recognition in the young adult literary community. In 2021, she published Instant Karma, a contemporary young adult novel with a romantic and speculative twist.
