Mara Rockliff is an American author known for her nonfiction and historical picture books for children. She has written numerous books that explore history, science, and notable figures, often focusing on lesser-known stories and individuals. Rockliff’s work is recognized for its engaging storytelling and thorough research, making complex topics accessible to young readers.
Some of her notable titles include Mesmerized: How Ben Franklin Solved a Mystery that Baffled All of France, which introduces readers to Benjamin Franklin’s scientific investigations, and Try It! How Frieda Caplan Changed the Way We Eat, a biography of the produce pioneer Frieda Caplan. Rockliff has also written Chik Chak Shabbat, a picture book that celebrates community and tradition, and Around America to Win the Vote: Two Suffragists, a Kitten, and 10,000 Miles, which tells the story of a cross-country journey for women’s suffrage.
