Leslie Connor biography

Leslie Connor is an American author known for her works in children’s and young adult literature. She has written both middle grade novels and picture books, often exploring themes of family, resilience, and community. Connor’s writing career began with picture books before she transitioned to novels for older readers.

Her middle grade novel Waiting for Normal was published by Katherine Tegen Books in 2008 and received critical recognition, including being named a Schneider Family Book Award winner. Connor has also written Crunch (2010), which was published by Katherine Tegen Books, and All Rise for the Honorable Perry T. Cook (2016), published by HarperCollins. These novels have been noted for their realistic portrayals of young protagonists facing challenging circumstances.

In addition to her novels, Connor has authored picture books such as Miss Bridie Chose a Shovel, illustrated by Mary Azarian and published by Houghton Mifflin in 2004. Her work has been published by major publishers including HarperCollins and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Leslie Connor’s novel The Truth as Told by Mason Buttle was published by Katherine Tegen Books in 2018 and was named a National Book Award Finalist for Young People’s Literature that same year.
