Lauren Roberts biography

Lauren Roberts is a young adult fantasist and the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Powerless books. Her debut novel, Powerless, first appeared as a self-published title and was later acquired by Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, which published the hardcover on November 7, 2023. The series follows Paedyn Gray and Kai Azer through a high-stakes romantasy set in the kingdom of Ilya.

Roberts expanded the world of her debut with the companion novella Powerful (ebook, April 30, 2024; special edition, February 4, 2025), and continued the main trilogy with Reckless (July 2, 2024) and the concluding volume Fearless (April 8, 2025). A further companion story, Fearful, was released on September 2, 2025. Publisher materials list the books for grades 9 and up.

According to her publisher, Roberts’s titles have sold more than five million copies worldwide. Her official pages and publisher biography also note that she built an early readership by sharing book content on social media before moving into traditional publication.
