Khoa Le biography

Khoa Le is a Vietnamese illustrator, author, and painter whose work appears in children’s publishing worldwide. She graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts and has focused her career on picture books and related illustration projects.

Le has illustrated and, in some cases, written numerous titles for US publishers. Her recent credits include Say My Name by Joanna Ho (HarperCollins, 2023), Sugar in Milk by Thrity Umrigar (Running Press Kids, 2020), and The Most Beautiful Thing by Kao Kalia Yang (Carolrhoda Books, 2020). Earlier work includes author-illustrated titles such as The Lonely Polar Bear (Fox Chapel/Happy Fox Books, 2018). Her books have been published in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Vietnam.

Le’s recognition includes the grand prize for the Samsung KidsTime Authors’ Award (2015) and second runner-up for the Scholastic Picture Book Award in Singapore. Her artwork has been featured in exhibitions across Asia.
