Kenn Nesbitt is an American children’s poet known for his humorous and imaginative poetry. He began writing poetry in 1994 and published his first book, My Foot Fell Asleep, in 1998. Nesbitt has since authored numerous poetry collections for children, including Revenge of the Lunch Ladies, The Tighty-Whitey Spider, and My Hippo Has the Hiccups. His poems often feature playful language, rhyme, and themes that appeal to young readers.
Nesbitt’s work has appeared in a variety of anthologies and educational materials. He has also contributed poems to magazines and online platforms for children. In addition to writing, Nesbitt maintains a website where he shares poems, writing tips, and resources for teachers and students.
In 2013, Kenn Nesbitt was named the Children’s Poet Laureate by the Poetry Foundation, a role he held until 2015.
