Recommended reading books for elementary, middle & high school students
Kate Leth is a Canadian writer and illustrator known for her work in comics and graphic novels. She began her career working at a comic book shop in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and gained recognition through her webcomic Kate or Die. Leth has contributed to several comic series, including writing for Adventure Time: Seeing Red and Adventure Time: Bitter Sweets for BOOM! Studios. She has also written for the Patsy Walker, A.K.A. Hellcat! series published by Marvel Comics.
Leth has worked with a variety of publishers, including IDW Publishing, where she wrote for Edward Scissorhands, and Archie Comics, contributing to Vampironica: New Blood. In addition to her writing, Leth has illustrated covers and short stories for multiple comic anthologies.
In 2022, Leth published her graphic memoir Mall Goth with Simon & Schuster, which explores themes of adolescence and identity. Mall Goth was longlisted for the 2023 YALSA Great Graphic Novels for Teens list.
