Kallie George is a children’s author, editor, speaker and creative writing teacher. She holds a master’s degree in children’s literature from the University of British Columbia. She has led writing workshops for children, adults and aspiring writers.
Her books for children include the Magical Animal Adoption Agency series and the Heartwood Hotel chapter book series. She wrote the Crimson Twill books, illustrated by Birgitta Sif, and picture books including The Doll Hospital, illustrated by Sara Gillingham, and Secrets I Know, illustrated by Paola Zakimi.
George has written Anne of Green Gables-inspired books for young readers, including Anne Arrives, Anne’s Kindred Spirits, If I Couldn’t Be Anne, Goodnight, Anne and Merry Christmas, Anne. Her other picture books include I Am a Meadow Mermaid, The Secret Fawn and I Hear You, Forest.
Her chapter-book series include Crimson Twill, Bibbidi Bobbidi Academy, Heartwood Hotel and an Anne Chapter Book series. The Winged Horse Race was her first book with Macmillan Children’s Books.
