John Gallagher biography

John Gallagher is an American cartoonist, author, and art director best known for creating the children’s graphic novel series Max Meow, published by Random House Children’s Books. He co-founded Kids Love Comics, an organization that promotes literacy through graphic novels, and leads workshops that teach young readers how to make comics.

In addition to his publishing work, Gallagher has served as art director for the National Wildlife Federation’s magazine Ranger Rick. His earlier comics output includes creator-owned titles such as Buzzboy and collaborations including Roboy Red. He continues to present at book festivals, schools, and libraries on cartooning and visual storytelling for children and teens.
