Joanne De Leon biography

Joanne De Leon is a Filipino children’s book illustrator known for her work on folktales and picture books used in classrooms and libraries. She earned a BFA from the University of the Philippines and works as a freelance book illustrator and graphic designer.

De Leon illustrated Filipino Children’s Favorite Stories, a retelling of Philippine folktales published by Tuttle. Newer printings feature her watercolor artwork throughout. Her illustrations also appear in titles such as The Termite Queen and Other Classic Philippine Earth Tales and Tiger on the Wall. In addition to trade books, her artwork has been used in educational materials and anthologies for young readers.
