Jen Wang is an American cartoonist, writer, and illustrator known for her work in graphic novels. She co-founded and helps organize the Los Angeles-based comics festival Comic Arts LA. Wang’s debut graphic novel, Koko Be Good, was published by First Second Books in 2010. She has also illustrated for various anthologies and contributed to webcomics.
Wang is the author and illustrator of The Prince and the Dressmaker, published by First Second Books in 2018. This graphic novel received critical attention for its storytelling and artwork. In addition to her solo projects, Wang has collaborated with other creators, including co-authoring the graphic novel In Real Life with Cory Doctorow, published by First Second Books in 2014.
Her work has been recognized by several organizations. The Prince and the Dressmaker was named a finalist for the 2018 Los Angeles Times Book Prize in the Graphic Novel/Comics category.
