James Stevenson biography

James Stevenson was an American author and illustrator known for his contributions to children’s literature. He wrote and illustrated numerous books, many of which feature his distinctive, loose illustration style. Stevenson created picture books, early readers, and cartoons, and his work appeared in publications such as The New Yorker. Among his most recognized series are the “Grandpa” books, which include titles like Could Be Worse! and What’s Under My Bed?. Stevenson also illustrated books for other authors, including Judy Blume’s “The Pain and the Great One” series.
