Jade Armstrong is a Canadian cartoonist and illustrator known for their work in graphic novels for young readers. Armstrong’s debut graphic novel, Scout Is Not a Band Kid, was published by Random House Graphic in 2022. The story follows a middle schooler named Scout who joins the school band in hopes of meeting her favorite author. Armstrong’s work often explores themes of friendship, self-discovery, and the experiences of young people.
In addition to their graphic novel, Armstrong has contributed to various anthologies and comics projects. Their illustrations and comics have appeared in publications such as Wayward Kindred and Group Chat. Armstrong is active in the comics community and has participated in events and panels related to graphic novels and illustration.
