Hatem Aly biography

Hatem Aly is an Egyptian-born illustrator known for his work in children’s literature. He has illustrated a range of books, including picture books, chapter books, and graphic novels. Aly is recognized for his collaboration with author Ibtihaj Muhammad and S.K. Ali on the picture book The Proudest Blue: A Story of Hijab and Family, published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers in 2019. He is also the illustrator of the Yasmin series, written by Saadia Faruqi and published by Capstone, which features a young Pakistani American girl navigating everyday adventures.

Aly’s illustrations have appeared in works by various authors, including Meet Yasmin! (2018) and How to Feed Your Parents by Ryan Miller. His art style is noted for its expressive characters and detailed scenes, contributing to stories that reflect diverse cultures and experiences. Aly has participated in events and panels related to children’s literature and illustration, sharing insights into his creative process.
