Gretchen McNeil is an American author known for her young adult horror, suspense, and mystery novels. A trained opera singer and former circus performer, she transitioned into writing after a career in the performing arts. McNeil studied at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and has worked as a voice-over artist.
Her debut novel, Possess, was published in 2011, followed by Ten in 2012, which was later adapted into a Lifetime movie. Other notable works include 3:59, Relic, and the Don’t Get Mad duology: Get Even and Get Dirty. She also authored the #MurderTrending series, beginning in 2018, and the contemporary novel I’m Not Your Manic Pixie Dream Girl in 2016.
McNeil’s novels have been published by Disney-Hyperion and Balzer + Bray, and her work has been translated into multiple languages.
