Gilly Segal biography

Gilly Segal is an American author known for her work in young adult fiction. She co-authored the novel I’m Not Dying with You Tonight with Kimberly Jones. The book was published by Sourcebooks Fire in 2019. I’m Not Dying with You Tonight follows two high school girls, one Black and one white, as they navigate the chaos of a racially charged event in their city over the course of a single night. The novel explores themes of race, privilege, and friendship.

Gilly Segal has a background in law and has worked as an attorney. She is a graduate of Hebrew University and Emory University School of Law. In addition to her writing, Segal has participated in school visits and literary events, discussing her work and the issues it addresses with students and educators.

Her debut novel, I’m Not Dying with You Tonight, was selected as a 2020 NAACP Image Award nominee for Outstanding Literary Work – Youth/Teens.
