Eric A. Kimmel is an American author known for his contributions to children’s literature, particularly in the genres of folktales and picture books. He earned a PhD in Education from the University of Illinois and has worked as a professor of education. Kimmel has written over 100 books for children, many of which draw on Jewish folklore and traditions.

Among his notable works are Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins, illustrated by Trina Schart Hyman, and Anansi and the Moss-Covered Rock, illustrated by Janet Stevens.
