Eleanor Crewes is a British author and illustrator known for her work in graphic novels. She studied illustration at the University of the Arts London. Crewes is recognized for her debut graphic memoir, The Times I Knew I Was Gay, which was first published in 2018 by Good Comics and later released in an expanded edition by Scribner in 2020. The memoir explores her personal experiences with identity and coming out, using a distinctive black-and-white illustration style.
Crewes has contributed illustrations to various publications and projects, including work for The Guardian and The Pool. Her art often focuses on themes of LGBTQ+ identity and personal storytelling. In addition to her memoir, Crewes has participated in panel discussions and events related to comics and graphic literature.
The Times I Knew I Was Gay was published in an expanded edition by Scribner in 2020.
