Drew Brockington is an American author and illustrator known for his graphic novels and picture books aimed at children and middle-grade readers. He graduated from Kalamazoo College with a degree in Art and Art History. Early in his career, Brockington worked in New York City as a graphic designer and contributed to the installation of Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s “The Gates” in Central Park in 2005.
In 2012, Brockington shifted his focus to children’s literature, launching the graphic novel series CatStronauts in 2017. The series includes titles such as Mission Moon, Race to Mars, Space Station Situation, Robot Rescue, Slapdash Science, and Digital Disaster. A seventh installment, Cosmic Clutter, is scheduled for release in 2025.
He also created the early-reader graphic novel series Waffles and Pancake, a prequel to CatStronauts, featuring titles like Planetary-YUM, Flight or Fright, Failure to Lunch, and Best Friends Fur-Ever. Brockington’s other works include the picture books Hangry (2019), Puppy Bus (2022), and the forthcoming Kitty Camp (2025), as well as the middle-grade graphic novel Metropolis Grove (2021), published by DC Comics.
