Dan Abnett is a British author and comic book writer known for his work in science fiction and fantasy. He has written extensively for comic publishers such as Marvel Comics and DC Comics, contributing to titles including Guardians of the Galaxy and Aquaman. Abnett is also recognized for his novels set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, published by Black Library, with series such as Gaunt’s Ghosts and Eisenhorn.
Abnett studied at St Edmund Hall, Oxford. He began his professional writing career in the late 1980s, initially working in comics and later expanding into novels and audio dramas. His bibliography includes original fiction as well as licensed works for established franchises. In addition to his solo projects, Abnett has collaborated with other writers, notably Andy Lanning, with whom he co-wrote several comic series.
His novel Prospero Burns, part of the Horus Heresy series, was published by Black Library in 2010.
